APA Staff
Our staff has been carefully chosen not only for their teaching ability, but for those qualities that make a good teacher... patience, a caring attitude, and the gift of inspiring students by the example of their enthusiasm. APA both encourages and assists its staff in the pursuit of additional classes and seminars several times throughout the year to upgrade their teaching techniques.

We are dedicated professionals who still consider ourselves students of new ideas and new choreography, learning from the great masters of today. We will take you from the structure of the classroom to the thrill of performing. Under the guidance of our staff, each student will develop to his or her full potential!

Ms. Rachel Taylor is originally from Gainesville, Georgia and began twirling at the age of twelve. She twirled for two years before being selected as a feature twirler for the North Hall High School Trojan Marching Band. Rachel represented the Trojan Marching Band with superiors at numerous competitions with her own choreography. She was also the first twirler in Hall County to twirl three fire batons on the field at half-time!

In May 2002 Rachel graduated from North Hall and accepted a scholarship to perform for Valdosta State University as feature twirler for the Valdosta State University Blazin’ Brigade. She held that position from 2002-2006 when she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a major in Finance.

During Rachel’s twirling career she has twirled in several festivals, competitions, parades, and performances. She is fluent in one, two, and three baton as well as knives, fire, flags, hoop, and streamer. She has taught twirling classes and private lessons for ten out of her thirteen years of twirling. Rachel has worked with various high schools in the county to choreograph and instruct their feature twirlers including North Hall High School and East Hall High School. In addition, she has been invited to judge local exhibitions.

Rachel is excited about continuing her twirling career as Director of Twirling at the Academy of Performing Arts. She says, “I expect great twirlers to come out of this group; twirlers that are well-rounded and equipped to succeed! They will be superstars!”
